Creating a Cohesive Visual Identity for a Non-Traditional Wedding Photographer

Niall Read is an established wedding photographer and videographer known for capturing non-traditional weddings. He approached us to develop a visual identity for his brand that could unify his website, print materials, and digital marketing efforts, creating an appealing experience for his ideal clients.

Project Overview

Initial Challenge:

Niall’s newly built website lacked a cohesive design style that represented his alternative and creative approach to wedding photography. He also lacked a unified brand identity across his marketing channels, which was making it difficult to attract his target audience.

Additionally, Niall required a pricing and packages document that could be used digitally (with clickable links) and in print form, complete with high-quality imagery and QR codes.

Pain Points:

• Lack of consistency in branding across web and print

• Difficulty connecting with his ideal client demographic

• A need for multi-functional marketing materials

Our Approach

Research & Strategy:

We began with a discovery session to align on Niall’s intended brand style, reviewing his website and technical capabilities with his chosen web builder. We explored his ideal client demographic and researched similar photographers and artists to inform our design direction. This helped us establish a rough style guide as a foundation for the project.

Design Process:

1. Style Guide Development: Finalized design rules, including fonts, color palettes, and layout structures.

2. Asset Collection: Pre-approved imagery from Niall’s portfolio to ensure consistent and efficient design iterations.

3. Prototyping: Created drafts for the pricing brochure and business cards to test both digital and print functionality.

Collaboration:

Niall’s creative expertise made collaboration a key element of this project. Through two review phases, we finalized the designs and refined copy to align with his packages and pricing.

Solution

Final Deliverables:

• A cohesive visual identity rolled out across print and digital formats.

• A polished pricing and packages brochure in two formats: print-ready and interactive with clickable links for digital use.

• Professionally designed business cards that aligned with the new style.

How We Solved the Problem:

The new identity unified Niall’s brand, making it instantly recognizable and appealing to his target clients. The pricing brochure helped streamline communication with clients by clearly presenting his offerings in an engaging and professional manner.

Unique Features:

The brochure was designed to function seamlessly in both print and digital formats. The interactive version included clickable links, while the print version used QR codes to bridge the gap between physical and digital experiences.

Results

Quantifiable Results:

• Increased inquiries from ideal clients who aligned with Niall’s non-traditional wedding photography style.

• A stronger brand presence across all marketing channels.

Client Feedback:

“I’ve seen a big boost in bookings and visibility—exactly what I was hoping for!”
